You are welcome to step away from your computer/live session if needed. Our team will ensure that the training is a safe space for you and your experiences. Additionally, our goal is to keep all sessions confidential, and we ask that you respect the privacy of your fellow women Veterans by not sharing the information shared during the training session. Why was this course developed?Women Veterans experience unique health-related challenges including: chronic pain, obesity, musculoskeletal issues, depression and suicide. Since 2001, age-adjusted rates of suicide among women Veterans have increased by 85.2%, versus 30.5% among men. Enrollment rates in VHA health care for women are significantly lower compared to men (40.6% vs. 47% in 2021). Therefore, no matter how much time has passed since their military separation, it’s important to recruit Veteran women into VA health care and support services so they can receive the care they deserve.

If I have TRICARE and/or private insurance, what is the benefit of enrolling in and using VA health care services?Using VA provides another option for your health care coverage, regardless of whether VA is your primary or secondary coverage. You may be eligible for this benefit through your military service, and you should take advantage of accessing no cost or low-cost health care. Based on your Priority Group rating, you could be entitled to no cost care at VA based on your military record or any service-connected conditions.
